Drumset Intensive Unit 2
Drumset Intensive Unit 2
Coordination and Control
The Drumset Intensive is decades worth of practice, performing, teaching, and studying, distilled into an easy-to-follow course for drummers who want to take their playing to the next level.
This second unit focuses on coordination and control, featuring:
12 video lessons (3 hours of brand new content)
PDF transcriptions (50+ pages)
Unit 2 deals with the entire drum set, mostly in the timekeeping role. I talk a lot about sound and feel, deepening your swing feel, broadening your sound, feathering the bass drum, shuffles, different approaches to comping, developing grooves, various tables of time, polyrhythms, and a lot more.
I’ve chosen twelve exercises that have had huge impact on my own playing and on my students. Some of these exercises are super basic in theory, but are things that I will be working on the rest of my life.
Lessons include:
Swing Feel
Feathering the Bass Drum
Stick Control in Three Speeds
Developing a Groove
Shuffle Meditation
Opposite Side Reduction
Hand to Foot Table of Time
Linear Permutations
Accent Grid for the Drum Set
Overlaps
Blues Etude
